Handsewn Endbands V: Multicolor, Single Core

Skill Level: Intermediate. This is a fast-paced workshop for students experienced with traditional binding. Students should be making sewn bindings independently, outside a workshop setting.

Class Description:
In this session we will make a multicolor, single core endband. The two rows of vertical wraps give this style an architectural feel. Varying the number of colors used varies the size of the bead. This luxury endband can accommodate as many colors as you wish and need not be sewn in any prescribed pattern.

Handsewn endbands are an elegant addition to any binding. With little a practice you’ll sew them in a flash and remember the technique forever.

Endbands are the ideal skill to learn online: the view is so much larger on even the smallest device, far better than you could get peering over the instructor’s shoulder. The recordings will allow you to watch the demo over and over, and at a normal, slowed down or accelerated speed.

Tools and Supplies:
All tools and supplies to be provided by registrant. Details to come in SDBA’s Welcome Letter, approximately two weeks prior to the first class.

Class Recordings:
Registrants will be given access to the class recording for one month after the last class.
