Machacek

Jim Machacek creates artworks in printmaking, artists' books, drawing and mixed media. He holds a MFA from C.W. Post/Long Island University, a BFA from Boston Museum School and a BA in journalism from Creighton University. He currently teaches at UCSD Extension and San Diego Mesa College where he co-founded Mesa Art Press to promote the art of fine printing in student projects. Jim is also co-proprietor and master printer at Bay Park Press, a San Diego collaborative print and letterpress studio. He is a member of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, Center for Book Arts in New York and San Diego Book Arts. His artwork has been exhibited extensively in museums and galleries nationwide and in international exhibitions in Japan, Hungary, Mexico, and Canada. His books are in special collections at the Athenaeum, UCSD, UCLA, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford University, Brown University, Yale Univesity, the London Tate Gallery and many other public and private collections around the country.
